When your application calls for volume, durability, and straightforward processing, Coarse Titanium Powder delivers. At BYC Ti, we produce high-purity coarse powders with controlled particle sizes, optimized for thermal spraying, cold spray, PM sintering, and other non-additive manufacturing processes where ultra-fine resolution is unnecessary — or even a drawback.
This is the workhorse powder. The reliable, no-frills performer that holds up under pressure — literally.
Typical particle size: 106 – 250 μm, available up to 425 μm.
Depending on your specific use case — from anti-corrosion coatings to porous sintered components — we can tailor both size and distribution.
High tap density for efficient compaction
Strong thermal response in spray systems
Controlled oxygen to meet your mechanical and corrosion resistance specs
Reduced cost per kg compared to AM-grade powders

Tap Density | ~2.8–3.1 g/cm³ |
Available Grades | CP Grade 2, Grade 4, Ti-6Al-4V |
While most titanium powder conversations today revolve around additive manufacturing, many industries still rely on traditional, high-volume processes where flowability and surface resolution are less critical than mechanical integrity and cost-efficiency.
Use cases include:
Cold spray systems for corrosion- or wear-resistant coatings on pipelines, valves, marine parts
Thermal plasma spray for aerospace component coating
Sintered filters and porous structures in energy and chemical plants
Powder metallurgy (PM) near-net shape parts
Welding rod core powder, especially for Ti alloys in critical joints
Consistent Sizing – Each lot screened to your spec
Clean Chemistry – Low interstitials, no unexpected surprises
Robust Packaging – Sealed, inert atmosphere to prevent oxidation
Batch Traceability – Full documentation available
Flexible MOQs – From R&D to full production
Q: Can coarse powder be used in additive manufacturing?
A: Generally no — particle sizes above 106 μm don’t support layer resolution or flow in laser-based systems.
Q: What grades are most commonly used?
A: CP Grade 2 is the most popular due to its balance of strength and corrosion resistance. Grade 4 is used where higher strength is required. Ti-6Al-4V is also available on request.
Q: What's the shelf life?
A: 12 months if stored sealed in dry, temperature-stable conditions.
